WESTON CONCERNS
Legislative Wrap Up Saturday and asks about impact
of myriad new taxes Democrats have passed this Session on towns such as
Weston, and he got his answer from Rep. Shaban and
Senator Boucher...Toni pointed out what our former Representive in the
135th, Alice Meyer, always used to say - what the Minority does
is measure its success based on what
did not get passed!

John Shaban offered the perspective of a first-time legislator, and
reported on how Weston's legislators work together!
Republicans at
LWV SPEAK UP - Selectman, P&Z, Police Commission, Library, both
State Legislators...
The
Board of Education caught it from all directions...but not their
budget, particularly; the key question on Regionalism drew
awesome response from Dennis!

"WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SERVE IN HIGHER
OFFICE???" Rep. Shaban concerned with CT taxes vis a vis the rest of the USA...
Rep. Shaban
and Sen. Boucher, it was noted by a questioner, are running for
nomination for higher office; Dennis flew in from Paris just in
time for Speak Up!
SCHOOL SECURITY
Senator
Boucher spoke on School Security issue and CT economy; she
reported Sandy Hook and CT "guidelines" on school safety to be coming
this summer.

its purpose had been widened to be for all districts, not just "high

Sen.
Boucher on education mandate relief and related unnecessary spending,
at Taskforce informal Public Hearing in Westport Nov. 23, 2013.
